This week is a crazy one...our church is having it's Vacation Bible School this week and though I'm not working in it this year our youngest son is. It seems to always be a crazy yet very fun week. Our daughter (middle child) is away on a mission trip this week also. She is in Memphis, TN. in the inner city doing work on homes that need repairs. It's a great ministry that meets the physical needs of mainly senior adults, our prayer for her and the rest of the team is that they will be the hands of Christ in all they do. This coming weekend I hope will prove to be an exciting one... Doug Lewis is coming in view of a call to become our pastor. From all God is revealing I am confident that this is His man for our church at this time. We have been without a pastor for a year now and are ready for a new chapter to begin in our church. Not that we haven't had great pastors fill in each week!!! I guess I better go I need to start planning our vacation to Dallas....so many details to figure out so little time.

Happy Summer
Hi all, I hope that June came in with a bit of sun and warmth for you. Just to catch you up...last Thursday was suppose to be my last day at work but God has other plans. No one has put in their application either for the summer position or for the full time one. I know that God has a plan He just isn't ready for me to see all of it yet. God is so good and I know he has great things planned for both me and for the person who will take over the library. Well for now that is all, hope you have a great week and a wonderful summer.

Mommy mood
Hi again all, hope your day is going well.
Lately my friends with small children have been placing such wonderful pictures and post on their blogs and it is making me a little sad. I guess as your children grow up and won't let you take their picture as much, I long for years past. I still sneak into their rooms at night just to watch them sleep and marvel at just how precious they are. I sometimes glance at them and see the baby I once was able to hold in my arms, something I truely miss. Wow I must be in a mommy mood today!!! I love watching them grow up and seeing where the Lord is leading them but just the same somedays I just want them back nestled in my arms. (lol, it's hard to nestle a growing teenage boy!!)

Creative outlet
Hi all---just want to update you on things with me. Since turning in my resignation at the library, God has shown me over and again that this is the right decision. I know I will miss the people I get to see on a weekly basis and those I work with, but following God's direction is such a blessing. I have joined an online "study" of God's word...it is through a site called "triplesketch.blogspot.com" each week they give you a word or an attribute of God to research in the Bible. Then you use any creative way to write down what you find. Some are doing a scrapbook, others a notebook the possabilities are endless. I think this will be a fun way to be spiritually creative. I pray that this new path will be filled with ways to bring me closer to God.

A new path
For the last almost 3 years I have been the librarian at our church's library. It is a wonderful job and one that I love, but I feel as it is time for a change so I have turned in my resignation. This upcoming year may prove to be a hectic one. Our oldest daugther is getting married, our other daughter will be a senior in high school and our youngest son will be a freshman in high school. So you see it will be a year of frantic activity. That is only part of the reason for staying at home, the other is that I feel that God is leading me back to being a stay at home mom. I also hope that I can now have time to work on my genealogy and scrapbooking more. I know this will be a time of change but with God directing me, I know that I will have a peace about things. Thanks for checking in, have a blessed day.

Snowy Monday
I do believe that snow on the Texas panhandle is the most beautiful. Yes the mountains are nice but seeing miles and miles of white can't be beat. I know I haven't posted in a couple of weeks but this is still very new and I'm not sure what direction this will take. I have been researching my dad's genealogy and have made some new discoveries, which is exciting. I also need to look into my mother's side, I just learned of a letter written from one of the presidents to one of my grandmothers. This is why I enjoy the search for ancestors so much, you never know what you will find.
That's all for now, may God bless you and keep you till we meet again.

It all starts somewhere
Well here goes....
I'm really not sure how all of this works but I'm going to try and figure it out. I really don't know many "old" people like me who blog but at least I will be able to communicate with some friends who do. Right now I am working at my church's library so I have very little time to devote to blogging. As far as hobbies, they include geneaology, quilting, scapbooking and just sitting in front of the television. Well I guess that's all for now, until next time----May God bless you each day and may you worship Him without ceasing.
